Privacy policy

SoCo Agents (South County Agents), a sole proprietorship based in Rhode Island ("SoCo Agents", "we"). This policy covers socoagents.dev and the web apps we make, including NEO SEO. When we build something for a client, the client's own policy covers their customers.

When you send the Book a call form, we get your name, email, and anything else you choose to add (your business, phone, best time to reach you, your message). It's emailed to us through Resend so we can reply. The form doesn't save it anywhere else.

If you used our earlier free SEO audit on this site (now paused), we stored what you entered (your business details, your name, email and phone, and your address if you gave one) and a scrambled, salted version of your internet address, to deliver your private report link and limit abuse.

This website doesn't set cookies and doesn't use analytics or ad trackers.

• Your email address. We use it to sign you in (we email you a one-time code) and so Stripe can send your receipts. We don't ask for your name.
• The website you ask us to check, and the details you type in when you start: business name, type of business, town or city, state, and your website builder (or "not sure"). We keep these with your account so we can run your checks and re-checks.
• What we find on your site: your score, the problems found and the pages they're on. Before we save any of it, we remove phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses and Google place IDs. Page addresses keep their shape so a re-check can find the same page; only email addresses are removed from them.
• Your credits: your balance and history. For each purchase, the Stripe reference numbers for your customer record, checkout, payment and any refund or dispute, plus the pack and the amount. Never card numbers, billing address or the name on the card.
• Your progress: which steps you've ticked, re-check results and the skills you've learned.
• Cost records: for each check or lesson, how long it took, how many pages were read and how much AI work it used, so we can price fairly.

When you start a free check or ask for a sign-in code, we record a scrambled version of your internet (IP) address: a one-way hash with a secret salt that changes every day. We never store the IP address itself, and we use the hash only to limit how many checks and sign-in emails one connection can ask for.

Sign-in email limits use a one-way hash of your email address. Those records are deleted after a day.

To allow one free check per business, we keep the website's address and a keyed one-way code made from the business name and phone number our checker sees on the site. The name and number can't be read back from it.

We use your information to run our apps: to sign you in, check your site, write your guidance, keep your credits right, take payments, stop abuse and answer your emails.

We may use de-identified, aggregated technical data to improve the service, such as which fix steps people find hard on a particular website builder. It doesn't include your email or contact details and isn't linked to you.

We never sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.

We share information only with the companies below, and only so they can do their job for us:

• Convex: our database and backend, where NEO SEO accounts and results are stored.
• Vercel: hosts this website, the NEO SEO app and our checker.
• Our checker service (neo-engine): visits the public pages of the site you submit, as any visitor would. It gets the website address and the business name, type, town and state you entered.
• Anthropic (Claude): writes your plain-English summary and fix lessons from the technical findings. It gets the findings with contact details removed, a general business category (like "Restaurant") and your website builder. It never gets your email address, and we don't send it your web address or the details you typed in. Findings can quote text from your public pages, such as a page title.
• Stripe: takes payments. We give Stripe your email so it can send receipts. What you type on Stripe's checkout page is covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
• Resend: sends our sign-in emails and the Book a call form to us.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile bot check): runs a quick check on the NEO SEO sign-in page so automated sign-up abuse is stopped. It gets a browser challenge token and your IP address, used only to tell people from bots. Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers the check.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our users or our apps from fraud or abuse.

NEO SEO uses cookies only to keep you signed in. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

NEO SEO also saves two things in your own browser: your answers on the start form, for up to an hour, so you don't have to type them again after signing in; and whether you turned the homepage sound on.

Stripe's checkout page is on Stripe's own website and uses Stripe's cookies.

• Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes and are then deleted.
• Sign-in and checkout rate-limit records are deleted after a day.
• Stripe event records (reference numbers only) are deleted after 30 days.
• Your account, sites, results and progress are kept while your account is open, and deleted when you ask.
• Purchase records (Stripe reference numbers and amounts) are kept as long as we need them for accounting, tax and disputes.

You can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or for your account and data to be deleted. Email socoagents@gmail.com from the address you use, so we know it's you. We'll reply within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your sites, results, fixes and credits. We keep only the purchase records the law requires, and Stripe keeps its own records of your payments.

Everything is sent over encrypted connections, card details stay with Stripe, and internet and email addresses used for limits are stored only as one-way hashes. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we store small on purpose.

Our apps are for adults running a business. They're not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.

We're based in the United States, and our providers store and process data in the United States.

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we'll also email NEO SEO account holders.
